St. Johns County  could wait until spring for details on permanent clinic

Veterans can expect to wait until the spring to get details about their new location of the St. Augustine Community Based Outpatient Clinic.

And it isn’t clear when veterans will know what is happening after March, when Lowe’s is scheduled to take over the property at 1955 U.S. 1 South.

The St. Augustine Community Based Outpatient Clinic, run by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, needs temporary space to move into before permanent space is built.

Despite Lowe’s intent to assume the property in March, VA officials have indicated they will stay in the current location if they have to. That prompted a written response Friday from St. Johns County Administrator Michael Wanchick.
